On Thursday Germany will take on Mexico in the second semi-final of Confederations Cup 2017. Germany beat Cameroon 3-1 in their group B game, while Mexico beat Russia 2-1 in their group A match to book their place in Confederations Cup 2017 semi-final.
Germans earned their semi-final birth by topping their group after beating Australia And Cameroon and a draw 1-1 with Chile.
Both Germany and Mexico have been impressive, but not completely convincing, they really haven’t stamp their authority. Mexico played Portugal on the first match in the group stage. Portugal sack back and tried to give the pressure and hit them on the counter and were giving Mexico the ball.
That didn’t worked out, Mexico didn’t penetrate that defence, but they were getting chances, but then things changed up and Portugal pressed up and keep the ball and that completely change the game in favour of Portugal.
It’s Mexico who have a turn of injuries, Diego Reyes didn’t participate in the practice sessions, who is out for the tournament, Hector Moreno another CB has a muscle elements, so he may not be playing and Andres Gurdado the mid fielder is suspended. And this really going to hurt Mexico.
In the group B match Germany failed to show their best in the first half, but after that they bounce back in a good form. On the 64th minute Kerem Demirbay was playing in the top 11 got a red card and Cameroon’s strength reduced to 10.
And the world Champions totally utilized the situation. Within two minutes Timo Werner got his first international goal. Cameroon resisted his first attempt, but he pulled out the second one in a more interesting way in the group B match of ‘Confederations Cup 2017’.
“I have been playing for two years in the Bundesliga, we need to see where their weaknesses are and where we can hurt them”. – Aaron Hernandez
